Skylark House Terms and Conditions

We understand that when a booking is made that we enter into an agreement with you, which is subject to these understandings. Some would call them 'terms and conditions':- 


Prices

Our prices are as stated on our website home page unless a specific agreement is made with you and confirmed in writing when a booking is confirmed. Prices are in UK pounds sterling and include any VAT if applicable. Prices include services as stated on the website. Additional services may be available but could carry an additional charge.


Arrival & Departures

Arrival Time

Arrival time is between 4pm and 6pm unless agreed otherwise in special circumstances.

Departure Time 

Please vacate your bedroom by 10am to allow us time to prepare for other guests.


We are happy to accommodate variations to these if informed at the time of booking. On the day of arrival, if you encounter travelling problems that delay you then please let us know as early as possible.


Payment

Payment for your stay is due prior to your departure. Payment can be made using recognised credit/debit cards or cash.


Children Policy

To maintain a peaceful environment for our guests we do not accept children under 12 years, and over 12's can only be booked into Avocet in conjunction with a Sanderling booking.


Accessibility

As our bedrooms are all on the first floor we regret that we cannot accommodate any wheelchair users at Skylark House. In the case of a group booking requiring a ground floor bedroom the guest lounge can be converted to a single or double room with toilet adjacent. Ground floor 'step-into' shower also available.


Dogs & Pets

We have two small, very friendly, miniature Dachshunds at Skylark House and therefore cannot accept any guest pets. Assistance dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement.


Smoking

In order to provide an environment for the enjoyment of all our guests Skylark House and gardens are a non-smoking environment. The house has comprehensive smoke detectors. 


Bookings

A booking, once confirmed with us, is considered a commitment. When making a booking we will require sufficient details from you to process that booking. Any data will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. On arrival you will need to complete a registration card.

At the time of booking please let us know of any special physical or dietary requirements for any guests within the party.


Changes to a Booking

Should you need to make any changes to your booking it is essential that you let us know as soon as possible. This includes cancellation or curtailment of your stay. If you wish to extend or postpone your stay please give us as much notice as possible as it will be subject to availability.


Non-availability

If for any reasons we are unable to fulfill  the agreed accommodation for your stay due to circumstances outside our control, for example illness or breakdown in building services, we cannot accept any liability. In this event we will give you as much notice as possible. Refund of any prepayment will be made without delay.


During your Stay

  • To enable us to maintain the environment of our guest bedrooms we ask that no food is consumed  in the bedrooms. Please ask us for plates, cutlery and serviettes should you wish to consume food in the Dining Hall.
  • Please let us know in advance if you wish to bring visitors into Skylark House.
  • We have a Guest lounge with TV/DVD, guest/tourist information and a games cupboard. This is for the use of all guests and just ask that its use maintains the ambience of the house.
  • Our aim is to create a peaceful, relaxing environment within and around Skylark House and we ask for guests assistance in this.
  • Accidents do occasionally happen. Should there be any breakages or spillages, please let us know immediately so that we can clean, repair or replace as soon as possible. A significant breakage may encur a charge.
  • In the unlikely event of keys being lost during your stay we may have to make a charge to cover the cost of lock replacement.
  • Our insurance does not cover guests personal belongings. These should be covered by guests' own insurance.
  • Liability. We take every step to ensure a safe environment at Skylark House, however we cannot accept liability for any damage, loss or injury during your stay unless it can be proven to be as a result of our negligence.
